The XC40 is Volvo's first car made targeted at Millennials. For a generation that lives on subscriptions, Volvo had to find a way to sell a car to a driver that doesn't buy.
So we made an app that lets you customize, apply for, and even pay for the XC40 without ever stepping foot into a dealership.
It works almost too well. In the first six weeks, there were over 10,000 downloads of the app. We sold more subscriptions in the first three weeks than we thought we would all quarter.
There was such high demand through the app that Volvo literally ran out of cars. The app also picked up a gold, silver, and bronze lion at Cannes.
The app was supported with a 360 campaign which you can see more of under 'Used To'
